Sales tax can vary depending on the year and cost of the vehicle.
- Sales tax rate for vehicles is 6.875%. Buyer’s premium must be included in the sales tax.
- Bid price + BP less than $3000 and is over 10 years old, sales tax will be a flat $10.00
- Bid price + BP less than 10 years old no matter the cost is 6.875% sales tax.
Tabs vary depending on the year of the vehicle.

The percentages used to calculate the MSRP and depreciation rate are changing for registration periods that begin Jan. 1, 2024, or later as a result of a statutory change passed during the recent legislative session. The new registration tax rate is going from 1.25% to 1.54%. The current depreciation is 10% per year until the vehicle reaches the 11th year, and then the customer pays $35.00/year. The new depreciation rate is 100% of the value of the vehicle, 95%, 90%, 80%, 70%, 60%, 50%, 40%, 25%, 10%. When the 11th year hits, the customer will pay $30.00/year.
If there is a lien card, the lien card must be with the title in order to sell the vehicle. The lien holder will be listed on the top left-hand side of the title.
