Buses

Only schools can be registered as Bus class and be yellow.

All other registrations need to be changed to Y-class or BY Class and color must be changed.  GVW can be lowered to 10,000, 12,000 or 15,000 lbs (if curb weight allows it).  No DOT# is needed at these weights.  If bus remains at a higher GVW a DOT# is needed in Y-Class for Commercial, but not in BY Class.

Curb weight x 1.25 = minimum registered weight

BY Class – for carrying more than 15 passengers

DOT# is not required with Bus Class / BY Class / Non-Commercial Y-Class

*** Buses being purchased for RV conversion:  This item will be processed in Y-Class.  RV Class CANNOT be used for transfer until all required updates to the bus have been made AFTER purchase.

The winning bidder of this lot MUST complete and submit the “Vehicle Registration Form” (found on bidder Dashboard/Invoices) by NOON the day following the auction close.
