User: a user is a technical term referencing someone who is using K-BID. K-BID allows for one user type per unique email. All user types within K-BID fall under the following types: bidder, affiliate and admin users.
- Bidder: Someone who has registered with K-BID.com to bid on our auctions. All bidder users are the same as they can use K-BID.com as a buyer to bid on assets. It is free to register as a bidder and comes with terms and conditions pertaining to expectations when using the site to be bidding and winning items via auction.
- Affiliate: Someone who is approved to use the K-BID Platform to conduct auctions on K-BID.com. Affiliate users have access to create and manage their auctions on K-BID. These are our customers and in order to run their business they are granted specific relevant data that pertains to their auction.
- Admin: Someone employed by K-BID Online Auctions and requires a higher level of access to K-BID.com Platform.
Dashboard: a dashboard is a reference to a logged in user feature where they can access information pertaining to their K-BID account. Both bidders and affiliates have dashboards.
- Bidder dashboard: A bidder dashboard is for logged in bidder users & is focused on open or managing invoices, lots or items they've put on their watch list to revisit at a moment's glance. It's also where they access bidder specific features like the lot alert, winning bid summary, and serves as a central overview of their K-BID bidder profile.
- Affiliate dashboard: An affiliate dashboard is for logged in affiliate users & is what powers K-BID. Only those approved to be an affiliate customer are able to create, manage the lifecycle of their auctions, gives them the ability to access relevant data for their business, finding data regarding their auction business, and serves as a central overview of their K-BID affiliate profile.
Account: account is the less technical term more slang term referencing someone who is using K-BID. Similar to user types, all account types within K-BID fall under the following types: bidder, affiliate and admin users.
Status: The status if a reference to an auction & is how you know which part of the auction, your auction is currently in. Certain statuses are applicable to both a bidder and affiliate customer types but is mostly an internal term pertaining to affiliates and K-BID Admin users.

Online Auction Solutions: Often referred to as OAS and is the software that was built by our founders and is the software that K-BID is run on. More specific information on OAS can be found here: Home | Online Auction Solutions
Auction ID: When an auction is created by an affiliate, it generates a new auction which creates a unique URL. The unique auction URL includes an ID. Currently we're on auction ID 62334 and that means there's been 62,334 auctions created on K-BID. These are chronological from when K-BID launched OAS our proprietary auction software. The Auction ID is how we connect bidder numbers with affiliate numbers and invoice numbers.
Affiliate: Affiliates are paying customers of K-BID. To be an affiliate you must be approved by K-BID staff and meet the requirements to be approved. Affiliates are businesses who use the K-BID Online Auction Platform to sell via an auction format.
Auction Shell: This is a technical term coined by K-BID referring to the first step in creating an auction when you click new auction from your dashboard as an affiliate, you're creating an "auction shell" which is the referencing the bones to the auction event through K-BID and serves as the framework for you to build out. This is only known by affiliates and admin users.

- Title: This is populated by an affiliate user and is what they name their auction. It's the very first thing seen and first step for customer communication between Affiliates and Bidders. All auctions have titles and must be between 8 & 225 characters. Titles Should Be Written with Capital Letters.
