Deleting or Halting Active Auction Items

Before taking action on a lot, confirm the following:

• Is the auction within the first 48 hours of being published?

• Are there any bids placed on the lot?

Decision rule:

• If the lot is beyond the first 48 hours or has any bids, the lot must be halted.

• Only lots with no bids and within the first 48 hours may be deleted.

Halting a Lot

Use this option if the lot has bids or is beyond the first 48 hours.

Steps:

• Remove any bids on the lot.

• Halt the lot.

• Update the lot title to:
  Item Halted - Please Contact Affiliate

• Ensure the lot clearly indicates it has been halted and that bidders should contact the affiliate with questions.

Deleting a Lot

Use this option only if the lot has no bids and is within 48 hours of posting.

Steps:

• Edit the lot.

• Click Delete.

Important

• The managing affiliate must be notified anytime a lot is halted or deleted if they did not initiate the request themselves.

• If the affiliate is habitually removing items from auctions, consider corrective action or penalties.
